Adam Wade Gontier (born May 21, 1978) is a Canadian musician and singer-songwriter. He is the former lead singer, rhythm guitarist and main songwriter of the Canadian active rock band Three Days Grace. Gontier left the group on January 9, 2013. In addition to his work with Three Days Grace, he has been involved in collaborations with other bands including Art of Dying and Apocalyptica. As of 2015, Gontier is working with Staind guitarist Mike Moshok, bassist Corey Lowrey and former Finger Eleven drummer Rich Beddoe on a supergroup called Saint Asonia.
After signing to Jive Records, Three Days Grace has released four studio albums, each at three-year intervals: Three Days Grace in 2003, One-X in 2006, Life Starts Now in 2009, and Transit of Venus in 2012. The first three albums have been RIAA certified platinum, platinum, and gold, respectively, in the United States, whereas in Canada they have been certified by Music Canada as platinum, double platinum, and platinum, respectively. The band have a string of number one songs on the Billboard Alternative Songs and Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks charts.
