"It was an amazing night when we finished that song," frontman
Jonathan Davis says in a press release. "It's a relationship song. You
go through that s--- and you get hurt so bad. Then you think, 'It's not
worth it anymore. I'm not going to f------ love again.' You experience
so many pressures to be a good dad, a good husband, a good lover, or
whatever. Being in a relationship is a lot of work."
The Paradigm Shift is due Oct. 8 on Prospect Park, with pre-orders beginning Tuesday. Never Never will be available for digital download Tuesday, as well.
The group recorded The Paradigm Shift
with producer Don Gilmore at Buck Owens' Bakersfield, Calif., studio
and at NRG Recording Studios in Los Angeles. It's the band's first album
in 10 years with guitarist Brian "Head" Welch, who left in 2005
following a conversion to Christianity.
"Everything changed with these guys — everything is more positive," Welch recently told Rolling Stone. "Now everybody gets along. Nothing's perfect, obviously, but for the most part, it's just really awesome and positive."
