Aardman Animations – makes of Wallace And Gromit – have launched a three-minute trailer for Sir Tom Stoppard’s radio play Darkside, based on Pink Floyd’s The Dark Side Of The Moon. View it below.

The production will be broadcast on Radio 2 on August 26, marking the 40th anniversary of the iconic prog album.

It stars Bill Nighy and Rufus Sewell, and is described as a “philosophical comedy”.

Floyd guitarist David Gilmour recently said he found the script “fascinating,” adding: “I can’t wait to hear it come to life with the great cast performing it, and our music woven into it. “I can’t think of a better way to celebrate The Dark Side Of The Moon‘s 40-year anniversary.”

You can hear this fantastical story in full on Bank Holiday Monday 26 August 2013, 10pm, on BBC Radio 2 and at http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b038xr3n
