Help JOLLY Recover From Hurricane Sandy And Go On Tour (links)

Like a lot of people and businesses, the progressive rock band JOLLY was seriously affected by Hurricane Sandy.  They just landed the opening slot on Riverside's upcoming tour but they need a little help.

In a statement from the band:
"In September 2012, we were fortunate enough to secure the biggest opportunity of our career to date; a spring 2013 tour opening for Riverside to promote our upcoming album, "The Audio Guide To Happiness (Part 2)."

On October 29th, 2012, Hurricane Sandy brought major flooding to Rockaway Park, destroying our drummer Louis' home, which also functioned as JOLLY’s practice space and recording studio. Despite efforts to elevate valuables and board up windows, the storm surge exceeded all expectations, busting through the boarded windows and ripping through our headquarters, completely destroying most of our equipment and Louis’ personal possessions. A majority of what we used to make our music was violently tossed around and left covered in sewage water, mud, sand, and garbage.

We're looking to rebuild and get new gear to continue making music for all of you, the incredible people who have always been the foundation of JOLLY.   In order to make this album and tour possible, we are calling on you, our fans and friends, to help us with this effort.  In the unfortunate event that we are unable to raise the funds to buy new gear and tour in the spring for Audio Guide 2, it would be very difficult to release the album this February. We would have to wait until proper promotion through touring is financially feasible.  Also, JOLLY will not be able to record any future music until we can get our studio up and running again.

Our goal is set at a modest $10,000 but in actuality, replacing our equipment and going on tour will cost $30,000+. We’ve assembled a number of rewards packages as our way of thanking fans that help to back our cause, and look forward to preparing these rewards for you if the campaign is successfully funded."

Since the original post last night, the band has released at 1pm EST:

"Wow, 15 hours after we launched the video and we've already raised close to 4K!! Holy shit JOLLY is so lucky to have fans like you. This is a truly beautiful experience."
